Sharing Files/Folder to External Users with OneDrive

Log into https://portal.office.com with you work email address and password

Click the OneDrive icon

Select new from the tool bar

From the drop-down menu select Folder

Give the folder a name then click Create

You can drag and drop a file in to the empty space

Once the file is uploaded it will appear on the page. The file is currently marked Private

To Share file, click on the left-hand side to select it

In the tool bar above the file select Share



Send link pop-up will appear


Select Anyone with the link can edit

Uncheck Allow editing

Select Specific people then click Apply



Type in the email address of who you want to send the link to. You can add multiple recipients. You will be notified below the email if the person is outside the organization. Then click Send




Link sent confirmation will appear.
